Want to leave a review about your physiotherapist ?
Simply follow these instructions for a better idea.
Australian Law prohibits a health professional from advertising patient reviews and testimonials on their website and social media pages. Information explaining the reasons behind these laws are difficult to find although we predict it is designed to stop health professionals from exaggerating expected benefits from health treatments. We agree with this concept of restricting advertisement in healthcare. We do not want to see TV ads of a person encouraging you to attend a Brisbane physiotherapist because that person benefited from that particular treatment. We do think more transparent online reviews from real people would benefit.
Where to review a Brisbane physio?
The best place to leave a review, good and/or bad, for a Brisbane physio is the third party review sites such as yelp and true local. These websites are not covered under the same laws as the Brisbane physiotherapists website and social media pages. As the physiotherapist does not directly control the page the reviews are generally more legitimate and balanced.
Tell your friends!
A Brisbane physiotherapist's best form of advertising is word of mouth. If you are happy or dissatisfied with services received I strongly advise you to tell your friends and family. Trust me, the clinic will quickly know when the clients stop visiting.
If you feel a Brisbane physiotherapist has done something very inappropriate, dangerous, and/or negligent I would recommend you to contact the Australian Health Professional Registration Authority (AHPRA). Handling these matters is very complex and beyond the scope of this article. I would recommend you consult the experts with these sensitive matters.
