We certainly have the opportunity for you.
What is the NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme or NDIS, is an Australian government initiative to help people living with a significant disability access required healthcare and services. To determine if you’re eligible for NDIS funding we recommend you visit their website (www.NDIS.gov.au) and view the access requirements. Physiotherapy services are an important part of the National Disability Insurance Scheme. Eligible people can receive funding for the physiotherapy treatment they require including hydrotherapy.
How can hydrotherapy help?
Hydrotherapy is a gentle form of rehabilitation completed in a specialty swimming pool. This is a low impact form of exercise completed under the supervision of a qualified physiotherapist. Many people with complex disabilities, in particular those in a wheelchair, can significantly benefit from hydrotherapy. The water allows movement without the pressure associated with gravity. Hydrotherapy can help improve strength, flexibility and physical fitness under direct supervision.
